Plastic-free isn’t just for July!

You might have heard that July is "Plastic-Free July". Hey! No pressure!

At It’s Organic Darling, we believe that Plastic-Free July is just the beginning of your journey to reduce plastic waste.

Being plastic-free in July isn’t a target. It’s just an excellent opportunity to start thinking about how we all can make little changes that help to reduce the amount of plastic we have in our homes.

The little things we do to reduce our plastic waste adds up.

According to the Plastic Free July website, participants:

  • reduce their household waste and recycling by 15kg per person per year (3.5% less waste)
  • globally they reduced 2.1 billion tonnes of waste and recycling, including 300 million kgs of plastic consumption
  • 86% of people made changes that have become habits/ a way of life
  • after 11 years, Plastic Free July has reduced global demand by 2.3% of all bottled water, 3.1% of all fruit and vegetable packaging, and 4.0% of all plastic straws*

Pearlbar

Plastic sneaks in all around us. And a plastic-filled bathroom is a great place to start choosing plastic-free options.

Plastic toothbrushes take around 500 years to decompose. And with 3.5 billion toothbrushes sold each year globally, a lot of waste could be avoided.

Pearlbar help us reduce our plastic waste by producing bamboo manual and electric toothbrushes.

You don’t need to choose between a great smile and the environment! This is one swap to reduce our plastic footprint we think you’ll love (and your teeth will thank you for).

And, when you’re all done with the toothbrushes you can easily compost them instead of throwing them away.
